If you're in reception/y1 how are you juggling the Reading Framework provisions with varying ability in cohort?
Huge mix in class this year, some who are barely ready for satnip alongside a handful who are well ahead - reading at a y1 level.
Literacy coord. says per decodable texts section of guidance we cannot send home any readers not from our reading scheme, or at a level not covered by what's been done in class. This means 2, maybe 3 pupils who already know all GPCs to be covered in main phonics sessions for this year, plus can't send home readers of the right level for them either. Guidance also says teacher should choose books so no letting them explore by choosing freely.
Any ideas?
