Application time

I am doing my QTS primary with a scitt. I'm not doing the pgce.

What other things could I do that would enhance my application which would be beneficial in a future school for me and the children to make up for the absent pgce ?

Thank you!

You don't need to make up for lack of PGCE if you have QTS?

Do you mean apply for ECT roles or applying for SCITT?

Serena1977 · 15/01/2022 12:50

Sorry, I meant when I apply for ECT jobs. I don't want schools to disregard my application because I don't have a PGCE.

I think, if I get to interview then I can show my skills then, it's just ensuring I actually get an interview!

They really won't

QTS is what people are looking for, the route to get there is less important

I don't think doing a SCITT will disadvantage you at all. You will have spent a lot of time immersed in a school setting, gaining experience and will be gaining QTS, which is the most important thing.

Consider the advantages of your course and how they can help you in a new school/what you can offer a school.

Good luck!

I did SCITT

It has never been mentioned in my career. Which has been pretty successful. QTS is QTS however you arrive at it.

QTS is QTS.
No worries on that front.
Have you had experience of any moderation in statutory assessment yeargroups? Could you ask to be involved in internal or criss-school moderation?

Have you run a club? If your current placement school has restarted cllubs, could you offer a 6 week cheer club, or origami, or whatever you are interested in?
