Part time but split 4 days

So I've asked(numerous times) to go to 3 or 4 days instead of ft. Finally I've pushed for it and got a temporary deal- Thursday and Friday afternoons off. I get ppa on Tuesday afternoon too. This was temporary for a few weeks. It's been extended for another month now. So my TA plans and leads on a Thursday and Friday afternoon (usually art, music, History/Geography) I do all other lessons and assessments etc.
I'm in two minds what to push for in future, it works for my childcare as I can pick up 3 days a weeks but I dont feel like I do pt as I'm in every day and it's all still on me if theres an issue as no other teacher involved. And of course I do all assessments planning etc. But then I'm paid for 4 days a week and luckily can collect my children 3 days a week so not sure if I should leave it as it is this school year?
Any advice? Or same position?

Sorry but that's a terrible solution. If you're going in every day you may as well do 3more hours and be paid. I'm 4 days a week but don't work Fridays.

if you worked 4 days you would still get 2 afternoons off - but also be able to do a drop off - and have a whole day to yourself - if you wanted to something (i'd always stay late if I worked 'mornings only'.. for me it would suck)

Yes you're both right, I need to keep pushing for full day. Thanks

I do 4 full days at the moment which works well while Dd is at nursery. I’m hoping to do 5 shorter days when she starts school as it would suit me better.

Can you find another part time job? The whole point is to have full days off really isn’t it

Meredusoleil · 09/01/2022 19:57

Push for full days off...3 ideally. 4 if not possible.

I mean full working days 🤦‍♀️

It’s also not really 0.8 as the afternoons (at least at my school) are shorter. You are working longer than 0.8
