(Silly time to be thinking about work but I'm stressed over hosting xmas so this is where my mind is going instead!)
In Jan I start a new job as the tail end of a maternity cover in a primary school (someone else was in this cover role but is leaving for reasons not to do with the school). I love it. It ticks every box - great school, curriculum, friendly supportive staff, wonderful children, good commute. I want to stay forever!
They don't know whether the teacher will return at Easter or summer (I assume it's a case of whether she will take the unpaid leave after the paid leave ends)
Selfishly I'm wondering...in your experience, what % of female teachers do not return after maternity leave?
Of course, it's her class and she absolutely should come back if she wants to! I just selfishly wish I could stay longer
