Hi,

Can anyone who has completed their PGCE recently tell me what the year was like? What were the most challenging parts? Did you find it manageable?

Applying at the moment but having a wobble.

Thank you

The most stressful part is working a full day at school and then coming home to write an essay. It prepares you though for working a full day and coming home to mark 90 books 🙃

It is stressful but you'll manage. You just have to accept the fact you won't have as many relaxing weekends as you will be catching up on planning/essays etc. For me though, it was worth it.

How did you find observations?

I found them really supportive-they focused on what went well, and then gave me new things to target. Has prepared me well for this year when it feels like I am observed every week by someone or other!
