Advice on -in-tray- test and pupil panel interview

Hello,

Does anyone have any advice on the above. I have an interview for a school office job and it will contain these. I've never had to do them before. Any examples of questions? I've done an online 'in-tray' test but its not relatable as not for schools.

Thank you!

Pupil Panel interviews tend to be absolutely lovely! They’re likely to ask relatively straightforward questions (what do you like about this school? What would make you the best person for the job?) but there might also be a ‘curve ball’ question because some schools let them set their own questions (I think I’ve been asked ‘what was the last book you read?’ and ‘what’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you in school?’) TBH, I believe the pupil panel is mostly to check how you communicate with kids, rather than to consider your answers.

In-Tray exercises for an office based role are more likely to be similar to what you’ve done before, rather than the sort I would have seen on teaching interviews (ours tend to be assessment related) but might also include contact with parents.

Good luck Flowers

Yeah with the pupil interview it almost doesn't matter what you say, it's about how you interact. Smile lots! And have an age-appropriate joke ready because 'can you tell us a joke' often seems to come up.

In the in-tray, safeguarding is always prioritised.

They will assess you. Prepare well for all kinds of interview.

Don't forget GDPR in the intray either. Safeguarding. GDPR. You'll be great.
