Any LSA's doing the governments tutoring training?

I'm an LSA and about to start the training to become a tutor for the governments National Tutoring Programme. We've been told to do the training in our own time, unpaid. It states it is 11 hours. Has anyone else completed it and if so how long did it take and were you paid?

Who are you doing the training through? I did it through so tutors - the training was monotonous, repetitive and unnecessary for anyone working in a school. Could skip through it fairly quickly though. I was supposed to do it in school time but didn't as always needed.

The actual tutoring was fantastic, great for the children, though the blocks were slightly too long for ks1 children.

The worst bit was having to do daily feedback forms, which the class teacher had to approve each day otherwise no pay.

Would I do it again? No. My school has used the funding to extend some TA hours and we're doing tutoring but our own way!
