I'm a TA
Been at same school 15 years
World all through the last two years of covid etc etc in school with KW kids
This term has been tough...a big cohort and not enough staff
Behaviour is terrible ..rudeness ..lack of effort ..very little effort from parents ....lots of SEN
I asked for this week off....for mental health reasons.....I have suffered depression for years and take meds....the guilt of not being there is terrible ....I've struggled to stay awake today and yesterday ...just found out four staff off with covid this week too....I feel so guilty ....I have to pop in to talk to SLT tomorrow ...I'm pathetic

Your sickness is as important as everyone else's. Covid is not the only sickness around and our mental health is very fragile at the moment with all the carry on. You don't want to sink further so taking some time is a wise decision. If you got another sickness like flu you would be out. Forget school and look after your health and hopefully before long you will be in a stronger place ready to face the battle again.
