What is the time scale from UPS application to decision?

Application due in on 1st October - I have heard nothing yet, HR person is off on long-term sickness absence, Head has not responded to request to let me know when we will hear. I really need the money and if I'm being denied that'd be the last straw and I'd leave.

Who else has access to that information and how long does the process normally take? Is it unreasonable to think this is now taking a little too long, given any decision would have to be applied to pay retrospectively this month and therefore be given reasonable processing time?

Decision by 31st October and decision in writing a month after decision

That late? Just doesn't seem right, what is taking so long from decision to letter?

Ours was usually deadline 31/10, decision usually January! But award back dated to September in terms of pay.

Sorry, meant to say part of the delay is that at my school it has to be ratified by the governors after school has agreed it which definitely adds to the delay

I was verbally told on the day that I would be moving up, but my school had a no surprises policy. If they knew someone was due to be going through threshold then there were discussions throughout the year so that everyone knew what to expect and nobody was disappointed.

When I see people having to prepare large applications and evidence files, it makes me want to weep.

My school takes them to the governors so it depends when they meet.

It has to be approved by the governors pay committee so it may be that they haven’t had their meeting yet. Deadline for submission should be 31stOctober, in-line with performance management. Decision has to be made within a month, and pay backdated to 1st September.
