Ups threshold

Hi, hope you’re all surviving! Looking for some advice.

I changed jobs last academic year mid year & joined my current school in April on M6 (ported from previous school even though I know this doesn’t have to happen).

Had I stayed in my previous school I would have easily been successful in going through threshold this September, but this new school requires two successful performance management cycles. I didn’t have performance management last academic year due to only being there a term.

This year (21-22) I am going on maternity in May, therefore won’t finish the cycle.

22-23 I will then return in May, meaning I won’t start or finish a cycle.

Am I destined to stay on m6 for years to come?! It’ll be years before I have two performance management cycles at this rate.

I believe maternity leave can't be used as a reason not to move you up, so for example if you were on M5 and only worked Sept-Dec but met your targets for that term, you would be on M6 when you returned the following academic year. The same should apply to UPS. It will be related to discrimination laws so they have to be pretty careful.
