If your school (private) announced that they were not going to acknowledge any unions what would your response be? What does that exactly mean?

I'd assume it meant that they were not going to discuss matters like pay and conditions with unions.

They can't stop individual members of staff from
joining unions of course.

If there are enough of you in the union, you can apply for a statutory recognition agreement if the school won't recognise the union voluntarily www.gov.uk/trade-union-recognition-employers
