I am desperately on the look out for an old science lab work-top (want to build my own desk at home). My own school was built in the last 10 years so no chance of grabbing anything at my school. A friend who's a science teacher just moved from her old school (to be demolished) to the new site and I narrowly missed out on one - she could have laid her hands on a few for me!
I've tried contacting salvage yards but was told that contractors either skip them or that tradespeople buy them to make a profit so I really want to try and grab just one before they're shipped off.
So, do any of you work at schools that have imminent new builds happening? Are any of you science teachers that can grab me a worktop before it's skipped/broken down/sold on?
