How much do you get paid for marking SATS?

I'm looking into this and can't find this important detail anywhere! The only information I can find is role descriptions and requirements. I need to know if it's going to be worth my while or not!

With the previous company that had the contract it was around £900-1000 after deductions. I turned down the new contract because it wasn’t worth it!

Would you say it's a valuable experience professionally?

I think it’s good to do. I did it for years. But couldn’t justify the time away from my children at the rates offered just before Covid. Not sure what they’re offering this year.

About a grand for basic maths, 1.2k for the experienced maths (you start at basic). It's hardcore for a few weeks but I enjoy knowing I've done it afterwards. Like a workout!

I was wondering the same. Can a secondary specialist apply to mark SATs as well?

Yes, in my group of around 6 markers half will usually be secondary maths teachers (often retired) and marking gcse too.
If you Google sat marking the page takes you to the capita link which says they are contacting those who marked last time first and there's a link to show interest should they need more people after.

I used to get about a grand for English as one of the more experienced markers - I stopped when it went to online marking as the software was so slow and it was so soul destroying marking like that that I called it quits that year.
