Daily observations!

Since starting back in September we seem to have gone from 0-100 at my school. The pressure is really on to ‘catch children up’ and we are having daily ‘drop ins’ which range from a quick 5 minutes to much longer observations from either the Deputy or Head. I’m feeling a lot of pressure from this and think it’s far too much. Wondering what others think?

I'd suggest that you need to speak to your union as this seems excessive.

I was wondering whether I should, thanks for your advice.

Same at my school! I look up and there they are! The Dementors! And they always arrive in pairs...the head and one of the assistant heads...stay for 5/10/20 minutes 🤷‍♀️ then leave🤦‍♀️ They may or may not come back again, we can never tell so are on edge the whole time. When it's brought up by staff in meetings we are met with passive aggressive 'you shouldn't feel like that really though...should you (head tilt/faux quizzical expression of concern)?? Not if everything is ok???'

Grrrrrr!!!!

We are quite honestly exhausted with it! This can happen 3 times a day some days...and at least 3 days a week! It's really not fair!

That sounds dreadful, I’m so sorry that’s happening!
We have exactly the same response when it’s brought up at our place. No better than gaslighting!
