Will post this on the end of the other thread too but I have just found this:

If you are identified as a contact and asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, including by the NHS COVID-19 app you may be entitled to a payment of £500 from your local authority under the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has been told to self-isolate you may also be entitled to this payment.

^Presumably that is all of the 'thought' that has gone into the situation I've been talking about. Still doesn't tell us if we would be seen as taking unauthorised leave or able to work from home or anything - need union specific advice on that.

Yes I have. Did you give me a gin themed gift once?

AttaGirrrrl · 24/09/2021 21:50

And she’s got it… Grin Small world!

MrsHamlet · 24/09/2021 21:52

I thought it might be you last night 😂 So many intertwining paths!

noblegiraffe · 24/09/2021 22:00

OMG real life teacher friends 😍

MrsHamlet · 24/09/2021 22:06

We even have two students in common!

JanglyBeads · 24/09/2021 22:06

How cool!
Honey interesting that your lot don’t have to mask on buses, ours do and we’re very close.

I discovered today that one of our staff who really really should know when to use a LFT, doesn’t.

DanglingMod · 24/09/2021 22:06

Today I discovered that a year 7 Bob has a "much naughtier" (his words) younger brother actually called Bob...

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 24/09/2021 22:09

My Bob has a little brother in N who uses 'fucking' as a constant adjective. Are we going to do some fucking reading on the fucking carpet?

AttaGirrrrl · 24/09/2021 22:14

@noblegiraffe

OMG real life teacher friends 😍
Real life gin drinking buddies GrinGin
MrsHamlet · 24/09/2021 22:15

Fuck is such a multipurpose word.
I think the gin drinking buddies may have had this conversation over gin...

CallmeHendricks · 24/09/2021 22:24

Will they sell gin at the CFS, do you reckon? There must be flower-themed ones.

MrsHamlet · 24/09/2021 22:26

I think that's a mission in the making!

AttaGirrrrl · 24/09/2021 22:27

I would totally expect gin at CFS. Proper posh gin too.

borntobequiet · 25/09/2021 06:39

And we’re not even at the end of September yet…

Piggywaspushed · 25/09/2021 07:40

I saw that jan! Mine next?

Two full in person Open Evenings coming up...

I have got the 'other bug'. So much coughing and sweating in the night, I actually decided to LFT. (am 56 days post infection so I can) Clear, obviously. But if I hadn't just had Covid, I'd think I had it, iyswim.

Cracklefraggle · 25/09/2021 08:16

Wow!! What a week! 8 staff off out of 13. Not all covid - we have at least 3 different nasties doing the rounds at the mo. Soooo glad it's the weekend! What an introduction to HOD Grin

Will catch up on thread at some point. Hope everyone is ok.

noblegiraffe · 25/09/2021 08:35

Can't believe the covid in schools stuff is actually being reported this time. I remember feeling like I was going mad last time when it wasn't. (Might have started a few threads on the topic...)

We've also got a horrible virus that is like covid but isn't covid going round, taking kids out for a few days each time. That one gives negative LFTs. Then we have one that gives positive LFTs and negative PCRS (suspicion that this is covid). Then we have covid.

DanglingMod · 25/09/2021 08:37

Blimey, Craggle, that's a lot!

We've had a lot of staff off this week, too. No positive with Covid but two with positive primary aged children at home and two with closed primary school classes in the mix. Multiple others with negative PCRs but whatever virus they've got bad enough to be off work.

JanglyBeads · 25/09/2021 08:38

Says some sec schools have 10 % off due to Covid.

JanglyBeads · 25/09/2021 08:39

Some will be awaiting test results presumably

TheHoneyBadger · 25/09/2021 08:57

Hmm our school is doing ok relative to other schools in our area but that was the case this time last year too and by November we were having to send year groups out to cope with staffing shortages.

A two week circuit break does sound wise
