Will post this on the end of the other thread too but I have just found this:

If you are identified as a contact and asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, including by the NHS COVID-19 app you may be entitled to a payment of £500 from your local authority under the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has been told to self-isolate you may also be entitled to this payment.

^Presumably that is all of the 'thought' that has gone into the situation I've been talking about. Still doesn't tell us if we would be seen as taking unauthorised leave or able to work from home or anything - need union specific advice on that.

With people to bring us drinks and snacks

borntobequiet · 03/10/2021 14:58

Broom Cupboard to spa is quite a big jump but I’m sure everyone is up for it. The spa needs a theme though and an attractive name.

DanglingMod · 03/10/2021 15:07

I think we should go for something a bit more school realistic. A steamed up minibus? Grin

noblegiraffe · 03/10/2021 15:10

That sounds like we're all having sex in it, Dangling

That might be realistic if we were PE teachers.

MsAwesomeDragon · 03/10/2021 15:50

@AttaGirrrrl

How long were you off *@MsAwesomeDragon*?

I’m not sure I’m going to be well enough after my ten days. Do you know if we just self cert or if I’ll need a doctor’s note?

I was off for one full week and Mon-wed the following week. I was released from isolation on the Tuesday of that week so could/should have gone back then, but I wasn't ready, I still needed naps every couple of hours. I got a sick note for the extra couple of days. It was very easy to get my sick note, I didn't even need to speak to a doctor, just put in an online request through the econsult system and they emailed me a sick note through that afternoon.

I'd rather go to a spa than have sex in a minibus. Especially if it's the sort of spa Ange is likely to go to, with a fully stocked bar and young men to bring me drinks. I deserve some pampering. I think we all do.

MrsHamlet · 03/10/2021 16:14

I'd rather do a lot of things than have sex in a minibus. Especially our minibus. It honks.

MsAwesomeDragon · 03/10/2021 16:25

Me too MrsH. I don't know the state of our minibus as I haven't been in it for quite some time, but I can't imagine it's particularly clean.

Appuskidu · 03/10/2021 16:27

I’d like to come to the spa. Providing I don’t have to sex in any form of transport! Except a cruise maybe, I think I probably wouldn’t mind that too much.

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 16:53

You lot are mad!

DanglingMod · 03/10/2021 17:16

I personally consider sex in a school minibus to be more hygienic than a whirlpool thingy at a day spa...

I hope you're not having sex in the whirlpool thingy at a day spa!!!! That's properly in public, and the police may be called!
DanglingMod · 03/10/2021 17:26

Nope, just the act of sitting in one seems proper minging to me Envy

TheHoneyBadger · 03/10/2021 17:31

The mention of thrush and verruca outbreaks does take the shine off.

I think we should return to republic mode but with a proviso that we are 'acting' republic heads. Hope staff is ok.

Crikey, when The DM has a headline screaming ‘masks must be brought back in schools’, you know it’s serious!

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 17:35

We can be “acting up”. Love that phrase 😂

MrsHamlet · 03/10/2021 17:39

My boss would prefer me not to act up 😂

DreamingofBrie · 03/10/2021 17:46

I'm sorry, but all of this recent conversation has taken me back to those dark, dark days of "snog - marry - kill"!

AttaGirrrrl · 03/10/2021 17:46

I’m good at acting up. Just call me Bobbette.

MsAwesomeDragon · 03/10/2021 17:48

We've got face masks in communal areas (corridors and assembly), but they can take them off in classrooms. It's better than nothing but surely the transmission occurs most often in the classroom where they are close together for an hour at a time, rather than corridors where they pass each other for a couple of minutes then move on.

MsAwesomeDragon · 03/10/2021 17:49

I get told off when I act up. It's still my favourite pastime though.

phlebasconsidered · 03/10/2021 17:54

Has anyone had positive lft then negative pcrs and gone back to school?

I've just done another one and got another positive. School have said via email that if my pcr is negative I will be expected in illness allowing.

I have a headache, low grade fever, wheezing tight chest snotty nose and itchy skin. But no cough. There seems to be a high incidence of positive lft negative pcr where I am. Rapidly increasing rate though.

Both my kids amd mum are negtive. I've been in my room all day!

DanglingMod · 03/10/2021 17:55

Several staff and my school and sister school, Phleb. I did avoid them in the staffroom if I knew Grin

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 18:14

It specifically says not to leave isolation if you have any fever, so you’d be alright there phleb.

Wait and see what your result is anyway.
