Telling head about pregnancy

I plan on (nervously) telling my head next week when we're back. Is this done via email or face to face?!

Book a meeting and do it face to face.
Be clear about who knows and whether or not you want the information sharing.

I'm 13weeks and already showing which is the only reason I feel I need to say. Ideally I'd have waited a long time.

One of our teachers is newly back from maternity leave and is pregnant again - she's putting off telling the head!

I bet you’re not showing as much as you think you are - or at least not so much that you can’t hide it for a while under scarves, baggy clothes and moaning about how much you’ve eaten over the holidays!

First dc I told my head over the phone in holidays because I needed to have time off for scan in the first week back. Second dc we had a new head and I didn’t want to tell them straight away before they got to know me / my work so wore a lot of long scarves & waited until 20 weeks which was around October half term. Then told them face to face. I had a definite bump by then but people were still surprised / hadn’t realised…people are a lot less observant than you think!

Good luck, whenever you decide to tell i hope it goes well.

I'd advise telling them ASAP, mainly for your own protection. I needed to be sick etc so the head knew why I wasn't in lessons.

Confused I need to be risk assessed as I teach early years so will try and pluck up the courage and tell him on Friday when I'll be 14w. Scared it's going to jinx things though - nobody else knows!!
