Any TAs who do supply work?

I'm a qualified teacher but have worked as a TA for several years, I left my job at the beginning of the first lockdown to care for my family, it was a tough decision as I loved my job but at the time I had to put my family's needs first.
I'm now thinking about getting back into it and am considering going through a local agency with a good reputation to find some work. I don't mind if it's a bit hit and miss regarding hours, I just want to get a foot in the door and build my confidence again.
Anyone have experience of this? Any advice or suggestions gratefully received! Thanks

Yes I started with supply, and far from relishing the prospect of a flexible few days here & there, was asked to stay long term after one week. Many schools are doing temp to perm positions, so it’s a great way to get back into it. I also have a colleague who has been offered teaching roles while doing TA supply, but she’s happier with her work life balance as it is.

Thanks so much for your reply. The agency I'm thinking of using do say they have short and long term contracts. I'm hoping for a slightly easier life though!
