Hello, my first go at making a thread, but needs must!

I will say straight away so as not to waste people's time, this is a technical problem concerning:

www.amazon.co.uk/Lysignal-Player-Portable-Lossless-Support-Black/dp/B0746H8JV1/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=covvy+MP3+player&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1626700669&sr=8-3

A few weeks ago my employer purchased a large number of cheap MP3 gadgets for children to use in class, or during wet playtimes, to listen to audiobooks. I enjoy audiobooks and gadgets so I volunteered to get involved in the project e.g. tracking down CDs in school (often books have them at the back) converting to MP3 format and loading them onto the devices.

However, although the instructions make mention of 'bookmarks' to enable an audiobook to be 'saved' part-way through a chapter, in practice this seems impossible. The instruction menus don't match up to the on-screen menus. I have tried to contact the supplier and the manufacturer for help, without success.

If this can't be resolved I'm going to recommend we send them back and order a slightly more expensive model with a bookmark feature. If they were just for songs it would be OK, but as the purpose is audiobooks, this feature is a 'must-have'.

A long-shot I know, but does anyone have any ideas?
