I was on a short term 1yr contract ending in August. In March/April/May my HoD asked me if I would be available in September. I was told I would have 0.65. No written contract though.

Yesterday the head teacher spoke to me and told me they wouldn’t be renewing my contract, as other permanent part timers are covering the hours.

I’ve only been there 1yr 8months.

If I had known in May I would have not had an issue with it - there were plenty of jobs to apply for. Now there’s nothing, and even schools looking for a January start won’t advertise until the autumn.

I am so so so fucking stressed and upset today. I just burst into tears in the staffroom and have told the cover supervisor I can’t work - I managed about 4hrs of sleep last night.

Someone tell me it’s going to be OK?

I should add, zero concerns with my performance as far as I know.
It’s all down to the timetable not yet being done for next year, and them not having the capacity for me apparently.

Of course that doesn’t help when I am worried about my financial situation in the autumn.

That is so shitty of them :( I’m really sorry.

You could supply until you have a permanent role.
