Placement deferral

Hi Everyone,
I started my PGCE on Sept 20 and completed all my assignments and placements in phases 1 and 2. I then caught covid-19 and had to defer my phase 3 placement, which was originally meant to take place between May -July 21. My new placement will now take place between Oct-Dec 21, however, I am still suffering from awful long-covid symptoms and want to push back my phase 3 placement further to possibly September 22 as I cannot manage at the moment.
Do you know if this is possible or if I can retake my PGCE at a later date? Just to note I used my whole PGCE student finance loan and the university has been paid for the complete PGCE.
I haven't asked my university yet about this as I'd like some advice from others that may have experience/knowledge as I would like to consider my options first.

Study can be suspended for illness (or other reason) - it's probably in your course absence policy.

It will depend on your course absence policy. Have you been specifically signed off with Long Covid as that might have more weight than someone reporting they have long covid symptoms. Study can be suspended due to illness, and usually some medical evidence is needed. You might need to speak to a doctor.

Could you check your course handbook before you speak to someone at the university.
