Excuse the silly question. I’m trying to send off an application form. If I’m a PGCE trainee am I technically employed by the school or is it just temporary employment.

You're not employed at all unless you're being paid

LolaSmiles · 27/06/2021 15:35

You're not employed, but if you're applying for jobs then it's quite common for trainees to put their placement schools in the employment section of an application form. Make sure you say that it is a placement though.

Ritakk · 27/06/2021 15:37

@LolaSmiles yeah I’ll do that as there’s no other section for me to include it. Thanks

@MrsHamlet there’s no other space to put placement experience though. And it should be on there. Plus the other option if I don’t fill that in is to select unemployed and without work. But I’m “working” so I kind of need to declare it somewhere I guess.

Clearly I need my summer holiday! Yes - put it as teaching practice.

You're technically a student I believe!
