A solo academy?

I've got an job interview for a school (all through pre reception to 16 but I'm primary) but I am a bit unsure about it as it is an academy which I've heard bad things about. But it's not part of a trust, it looks like it got academy status a decade ago and is on its own, not part of a group. Is that a thing? Is it better than an academy trust?

Academies aren't a bad thing, per se. Go and see how you feel about it.

Might be great, worth having a look. You can always ask if they have any plans to join a MAT or not.
