Parents Facebook page comments

Hi everyone, chin up, it's almost half-term.

I have an issue with a parent whose little angel can do no wrong, except he does. Frequently. Everytime consequences are imposed we have a phone conversation where I say the rules have to be adhered to and she calls me aggressive. I'm always very calm on the phone and NEVER raise my voice. Fine, that's part and parcel of being Pastoral Lead. However for the second time she has posted comments on a private Facebook page (we have spies on it) about my appearance. My hair is too blonde, my hair is too short, I wear too much make-up. The first time the Head said I should just let it go and "we chose to put ourselves out there". I spend so much time dealing with bullying issues my students have on social media I want to lead by example and do something about it. Has anyone experienced similar, and what did they do about it?

Oh, that’s difficult. I’d leave it though: it doesn’t sound too bad, to be honest, although it she gets nastier you could have a think. Best left though.

Not sure what your HT means by"we chose to put ourselves out there". You're doing your job. Log everything, including screenshots of the FB comments. You may need them later.

If you are identifiable in the FB comments, this might be actionable later.

Why are there spies on an fb page that’s private?! You’d save yourself heartache if you just didn’t know. Flowers
People vent. It’s human nature. Rise above.

I would log in case it becomes useful in a future meeting.
