Application process

A bit of a long story...but I wanted people's opinion on this one.

I'm currently nearing the end of my NQT year and a position was advertised at my school (I have applied). However, on the day applications closed, I bumped into a teacher who had left the school approx 1.5 years ago. They had been invited to interview for 'another position' which hadn't been advertised.

Now I understand situations change within schools, but my question is, how was this process fair for the other candidates? There are three internal applying and we were not told of the other position OR people being interviewed.

The deputy did talk to me afterwards but I felt so deflated about it!

Thoughts?

I can only sympathise as this has happened to me several times as an external candidate and I too, thought it was most unjust 😏
