I have been on a very extended maternity leave for almost 3 years! A job has come up at my son's school and i'd like to apply. Can anyone help me with any influencers, buzz words, key concepts for primary education ks1 at the moment? Thanks!

Growth mindset and learning powers are in at the moment and giving children the opportunity to reflect on their learning. Sticky knowledge is another buzz word - what is the main idea / concept you want the children to learn, remember and apply in the lesson?

My school talks a lot about metacognition and learning how to learn but I’m in ks2.

Best of luck with your application.

I would say that growth mindset is a difficult and possibly divisive one - still very pervasive in some schools, 'been through and got over that one' in others.

Recovery curriculum, definitely. Catch up. In schools that care, mental health impacts of the pandemic.

Maths mastery is one that some schools are very much into changing everything for, others have quietly integrated into what they do some time ago, and some are just starting to zealously espouse.
