TLRs in primary

Hi
I'm just wondering which subject leaders get TLRs in your school (if any!).

English and Maths -but only because they are head of KS1 and 2 as well.
Previous school, no one

thebookeatinggirl · 22/04/2021 20:03

None, as far as I know. One form entry with no deputy but 2 assistant heads, both on management pay scale and they do Maths and English, and head up FS/KS1 and KS2.

Floobydo · 23/04/2021 07:12

None. We have a head & deputy who are on leadership scale & 1 teacher (who happens to be English lead) on the leadership team who gets a tlr.

I’m part time & lead maths. Subject leadership gets counted as our ups evidence.

careerchange456 · 23/04/2021 22:38

No TLRs here. One form entry with head and teaching DHT. Maths and English lead are on UPS but those people would also have it if they were on main pay scale.

Pay progression in primary sucks! It's even worse if you're in a part of the country where nobody leaves their jobs so there are very few opportunities to move up!

KatherineOfGaunt · 23/04/2021 22:40

In my last two mainstream posts, all the key stage leaders and core subject leaders were on TLRs.

mamaduckbone · 24/04/2021 09:05

None. We are a small school, so all teachers lead multiple subjects but there is no money for TLRs, especially as 3 of us are UPS.

Chocs44 · 24/04/2021 13:02

None in my school either! Extra responsibilities are expected if you're ups3.

Timeturnerplease · 24/04/2021 17:41

Nope. I’m on M6 and have been for a few years, and am English and Humanities lead, mentor all NQTs and students and am a deputy DSL. One form entry village primary.

At one point, in a small school I led maths, RE, PE, phonics, history and geography , was deputy DSL and NQT/Trainee mentor and had no TLR!

cabbageking · 24/04/2021 21:35

Depends on your budget.
None of our subject leaders get a TLR.
The phase leaders do.
