Teaching Assistant Resignation - When to Start New Job

Thank you to everyone who helped me with my previous query! So my last official day at school will be at the end of the summer holidays. I break up from school at the end of July and will be paid for the following four weeks.

If I find a new job within this time (NOT in a school) can I legally start there straight away or do I need to wait until the official end date fo my school contract?

Sorry, I should have added this could include temp work. I can't sit on my hands for 5 weeks!

TA hours are pro rata so your salary for ‘term time only’ is split equally over 12 months therefore I would say when term ends so does your contract but youre still able to receive payment, so can start straight away.
