Sickness pay

I know that I get 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay. I've had about 5 weeks sickness since December in different formats, a few days here, a few weeks there. If I get signed off long term will the 6 months start from my new period of absence or from December when the absences started?

It is the total across the year.

You can't 'reset it' every time you come back.
