You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and do wear a mask

Reading through that Twitter thread, a thought reoccurred to me that I had yesterday and forgot: is this meant to be a UK wide report? It doesn't say... I think.

I am also a bit that Duwayne Brooks is a Tory councillor. Perhaps that's as acceptably close as the gov wanted to get to Stephen Lawrence issues.

Happy holidays everyone. Takeaway is ordered. Laptop is switched off for a week (will need to work for the second week as I have sixth form reports to write and a year 10 summer exam to put together). I completely refuse to do anything school related until next weekend at the earliest.

Me too. I'm not working until 15th April at least. I need the head space. Also going to try and stay off of SM.

Happy Easter Holidays to those who finished today

I did the supermarket shop which I thought was quite an achievement for my first day off! DS was still in school today so decided to get it done while I could go alone.

Looking forward to the next two and a bit weeks not having to get up quite so early! Trying to think of some nice things to do with DS (7) while we are off but obviously things are still very limited.

Thinking baking, board games, cinema afternoon with curtains closed/lights off/popcorn, taking his scooter to the park, drive thru McDonald's one day and lego making. Plus some craft stuff as he has aqua beads/colouring stuff etc.

Hopefully, we (and everyone else!) Will have a nice holiday despite the restrictions.

Ds has a cough. Can't decide if it is enough to be a problem. Going to do an lfd tonight then see if he is coughing in the morning. Wish us luck

LFD is negative. If there is no coughing in the night or the morning, I will leave it. The slightest cough and it will be a pcr.

Congrats to all who are done with term now I am going to try and get myself to get things done tomorrow. I only have one set of assessments here I could mark, the rest are at school which I guess will be closed now till Tuesday so I should focus on the state of the house and that one set of essays.

If I could get marking done at school on Tuesday and Wednesday where I won't be distracted then I can still have a good chill before back to school.

Going to be a little bit jealous when some of you guys are chilling in your second week off whilst we're back at school.

Happy Easter to all. Good Friday is a public holiday here, so most shops closed all day and utter deathly quiet descends. I'm being very practical, washing whites as it'll be an astounding 29. The gym I use is keycard access so I'll be going there.

I've been on long service leave all week, so planned all lessons for the first week back. (They are an outline of my intentions/resources, nowhere near the madness of the English models), so now I don't have to think of anything.
