Using another schools resources ok?

Our department shares resources online with other local schools. Recently I used instructional videos by another teacher (with her permission) as part of my remote learning lesson so that the pupils could follow instructions to make something. This was the first time I've used another teacher's video. A member of my dept said it might make us look lazy to the principal and I shouldn't have done this. (I'm the head of dept) any thoughts?

My thoughts is that your member of department is a lunatic who would rather see teachers sweat blood reinventing the wheel than sensibly use quality resources from elsewhere.

As you are HOD you need to stamp on this useless workload-creating message and encourage your dept to save time by using stuff made by other people so long as it's appropriate.

Oak academy was created for this purpose so it's fine by the people in charge

I've linked up other people's Phonics lessons for my class while we were closed. Why would I spend ages creating another video when someone has already put the time and effort in to do it? We use RWI, so it's not as if mine would look very different. I've got other things to do...(We were teaching in class and live streaming at the same time for weeks.)

Blimey, I use YouTube all the time in class. There's a lot of videos on there where people explain stuff better than me...

What’s the point of sharing resources if you then don’t use them???
