Applying for post in my current school?

Hi all,

I am an NQT at my current school and there will be a permanent post being advertised soon.

Does anyone have any advice about applying for a job in the school you are in in terms of cover letter or type of interview questions that may be different?

Interview questions have to be the same for all candidates.
Apply as if you're external.

I applied to a post in my placement school (didn’t get it but was glad to get interview!) in my application I referred directly to it ‘having worked in the school, l am aware of the work being done around...’ etc
I also found it helped me massively to be able to talk about the ethos confidently and I could show how I’d fit in.

Make sure you still tell them what you have done - don't assume they will know!

Maybe talk about the work you have been doing and how you would like to develop it if you remain there.

Good luck!
