Covid testing pupils next week?

NC for obvious reasons.

I'm just wondering if anyone else's school have planned for covid testing of pupils next week? My school have and I don't think it is allowed. I am waiting for a response from my union rep but wondered if other people are having the same issue.

Are the children not doing their own testing under supervision?

COVIDtesting · 25/02/2021 14:18

Yes, but in school next week. I'm just unsure whether that is allowed or if we have to wait until the 8th March to bring them in.

Ah right. A bit pointless doing it next week if they aren't back at school. Is it supposed to be a practise session?

I think it is so we can get straight to teaching normal timetabled lessons for the whole school from the 8th without faffing about testing kids then. Which I would personally prefer, but I really don't like breaking rules!

Nick Gibb said on R4 this morning that testing next week was allowed!

My school is doing the same, for the same reasons

tessiegirl · 25/02/2021 23:51

So is mine. I don't understand why they wouldn't be allowed?!

I think the whole situation is a 'lip service' ridiculous - our situation ..

We were told students need 3 clear tests before coming in

Then they can come in with a negative test (so 1 clear test)

Then they can do the test in school

Then they can chose not to do the test.. it is optional!

MadameMinimes · 26/02/2021 12:48

It’s allowed. The initial guidance suggested it had to start on the 8th but it was changed as some schools asked to start next week. We are starting on the 8th as planned.
