Maternity leave money

Hi all! I'm trying to calculate how much money I will get during my maternity leave. My school has the burgundy book but I'm not sure if I will be able to go back 13 weeks after my maternity leave as we are moving 1h15 min away! I will need to get a driving licence and it seems a bit complicated. I also think it would be more beneficial for the school and students if they just have a new teacher.

I'm trying to calculate how much money I will loose if I'm not back and it seems like it's "only" £3,000! I though the difference was much higher! Is this number sounds right to you? My weekly earnings are £500 after taxes.

-Maternity leave burgundy book: £10,690.94
-Maternity leave no burgundy book: 7,689.6

I can't believe this is everything I will gate in 9 months! My partner earns around £50,000 so I guess it is to much to ask for any type of help.

You will have to pay back or not take the occupational maternity pay. So that’s the bit that’s above SMP

SMP
90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks
£151.20 or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks

Occupational Mat Pay
For the first four weeks, you will be paid at 100 per cent of salary. Weeks 5 - 6 are paid at 90 per cent of salary, and weeks 7 - 18 at 50 per cent of salary plus the standard Statutory Maternity Pay rate of £139.58 per week. The remaining 21 weeks are paid at the standard Statutory Maternity Pay rate.

So the extra is 10% weeks 1-4
0% for weeks 5-6
50% for weeks 7-18
