Notification to shield, so I don't go in?

Had notification in week that I was on shielding list. Emailed head and business manager. BM has acknowledged recieved email so I don't go in on Tuesday?

I don't think you have a choice. I have 2 colleagues who were shielding and both were asked to leave the premises and teach from home as soon as info about the Nov lockdown came out. One was fine about it but the other one argued that it wasn't mandatory and was her choice to stay. She still wasn't allowed and had to go home.

I'm really sorry. Hope you can get a vaccine and back to some kind of normality soon.Sad

Thanks, didn't think I had. Fingers crossed vaccine soon as email did say gp would be contacting me for that soon.

It isn’t mandatory so I think it is worth talking to your doctor and your HT At the end of the day, it’s your choice but there would need to be a robust risk assessment if you did want to go in.

It's mandatory in my local authority , nothing to do with schools but a directive from the LA. Shielding staff have to continue to shield.
