Does anyone work in SEMH specifically boarding.

DS is in Y4 in a PRU, EHCP for SEMH, PEx previously from mainstream. We really want him to be in a resource base in mainstream but there is one in our v large county, 50 minutes away so he may be staying in the PRU for the rest of primary.
None of the LEA SEMH secondaries are at all suitable, one in special measures, one got 2 GCSEs total last time they sat them etc. There is another independent SEMH which is about 45 mins away which is probably OK but DS is fairly bright (went from "he can't add two single digit numbers" in Y2 to "higher than average for age" start of Y4) and that school also doesn't seem to aim that high and we are also concerned about friendships as he's changed schools/lockdown/first school said he didn't have friends.
So we are possibly looking at an SEMH boarding school a couple of hours away - where he could weekly board.
I'd be really interested in hearing from anyone working in such a setting.

I used to - how can I help?

Sorry, there wasn't really a question!
I'm just concerned about a very young 11yo in boarding school.
But he's had so many moves, we wouldn't want to start him at a less suitable school and move him.
