You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

@MrsHamlet

No. Bloody teachers with their bloody unrealistic demands. Chunter chunter.
But Ptolemy does so enjoy sniffing using the glue sticks to add his star of the week certificates to his portfolio

@MrsHamlet

I bought some jumpers from seasalt today. Very exciting.
Oh so that's where the PTA funds have gone ...
JanFebAnyMonth · 08/02/2021 20:28

KevAn apparently means handsome child.

I love Sir Collins already (but then I'm a DfE mole)

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/02/2021 20:32

Dd was actually star of the week last week. She was so chuffed!! The biggest thrill for her was that she got a certificate and her name in the newsletter without having to stand up in assembly to collect it. Her teacher knows that, and days he held back on giving it to her when they were at school hoping she would get confident enough to do the standing up in assembly thing, but took the opportunity while we're all at home. And she did some lovely descriptive writing in her story last week.

TheHoneyBadger · 08/02/2021 20:32

Nice use of the old double bluff there Jan.

MrsHamlet · 08/02/2021 20:33

If you want to have a zoom meeting to discuss the PTA funds, we can do that. But I warn you... I'm handy with the chuck out button.

I like chocolate, but I'd be more likely to spend it on gin, cheese and shoes!

chocolateisavegetable · 08/02/2021 20:38

MsAD awww that is so lovely.

noble I don't work for the government, honest ...

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/02/2021 20:38

I'd definitely spend it on chocolate. I daren't even think about how much chocolate you could get for £6000. diabetes? Chocolate is a bad idea

noblegiraffe · 08/02/2021 20:40

Not much if it's Hotel Chocolat.

You'd get way more if it were tins of Heroes. You'd have enough to be able to bin the creme egg ones without a second thought.

MrsHamlet · 08/02/2021 20:41

I like Aldi chocolate

DollyMixtureLulus · 08/02/2021 20:42

I was very tempted by the bar of Mini egg chocolate when I was doing my shopping.

MrsHamlet · 08/02/2021 20:46

I'm saying nothing Jan
I did once leave a meeting I was chairing in an absolute fury because they were all being arseholes. I got as far as the pub next door before realising I'd left my handbag behind.
I burst into rage tears and some stags on a do took pity on me 🤣

noblegiraffe · 08/02/2021 20:46

are YOU Jackie Weaver???

Please refer to her as Britney Spears from now on.

GuyFawkesDay · 08/02/2021 20:47

God I needed a laugh, thanks everyone. £6k of chocolate sounds about right.

The school I sent the DC to was hit by a double whammy.

The chair of PTA spent £7k of the PTA money and had to be sacked and in.

And the ht was sacked after dipping into more than £50k of school charitable funds to fuel a gambling addiction.

On the 'I fancy Matt Hancock' thread, two people have said they fancy Gav!!!

Am I really the only person who loves the cream egg ones?

I do well out of this as ds won't eat them and they tend to get left till last at school too.

I will swap you them for all of the orange and strawberry creams in quality street.

RigaBalsam · 08/02/2021 21:00

I once spent over £100 on three bags of sweets in Dubrovnik ripped off in captain candy. Not my finest hour.

MrsHamlet · 08/02/2021 21:05

Once upon a time, my dad bought me a whole box of rolo eggs from the cash and carry. It was a good day.
