Half term

Has their been any information on what's happening in schools over half term?

Are teaching staff still expected to be in schools with key worker children?

I really hope not! Think most of us are already on countdown to half term!

No news yet. My head is going to close whatever I think. We did the same last May half term.

I mean, there is no way that key workers are only being key workers between 9 and 3, shifts don't work like that, so they must have other childcare options. They'd normally use those in school holidays.

Vulnerable kids would be off during half term too.

I don't think we should be taking up all babysitting duties. We had one parent ask if we could have their child for a day whole they go for a visa meeting. Erm, no.

I'm assuming closed over half term- if that wasn't the case, surely we would have been told by now?

Personally, I have no intentions of working over half term for free this time around.

Me neither and i think a lot of teaching staff would burn out without it!

We have a mental health too!

We always have a sports camp in school during the half terms, key worker children will be given priority to attend this.

We sent a letter to our parents today to tell them we are closed over half term no matter what guidance the government issues. The staff all need a break.

DfE update today said schools closed as normal in half term.

We only have a Friday/Monday half term break but school will be closed to all pupils on those dates.
