Teacher Application Help!

Hi all,

I am filling out an application form for a teaching post and need your help on understanding some sections:

1. What does it mean by "Membership of Professional Bodies/Professional Qualifications"? I have also put my degree etc under education, training and qualifications. Likewise, any work-related training under work-related courses/training/professional development.

1. They are asking for a third reference who should know me in a more personal context. I am unsure how personal this can be? A friend? A family member? Does it matter if it is a friend within a school I have already worked in?

I think that 1 means if you are a member of for example the Musicians' Union, or the European String Teachers Association. From your username, I'm guessing you teach PE. Do you have any coaching qualifications in any sport? Have you achieved any diplomas that are relevant?

The 2nd one is a personal referee who knows you outside of school. It should not be a family member. I work in 2 schools at the moment so the 2 referees are the Heads of each. My 3rd is an old and good friend who writes a bloody good application letter. We have known each other 25 years now and act as the other's personal referee.
