Like many of my secondary colleagues, I spent yesterday learning how to process, analyse and record covid tests. The school hall has been converted into a make-shift test centre, we have a store room full of PPE ready to go and testing of all staff and students was due to start from this morning. After Boris's announcement last night I think most of us assumed all this would be put on hold until we reopen fully.
An email was sent out by the Head following last night's announcement saying that we could work at home today if we wished, unless rota'd on to support Keyworker/vulnerable students and that further info would be sent out in due course.
This morning I've had an email from LT informing me that I will be expected on-site doing covid testing for the duration of lockdown, along with a handful of other staff. Are other schools still doing this? Is this based on guidance from the government or is it being left up to individual HT's to decide whether to plough on with the testing programme or not?
