Plan for next week

I’m secondary. My head shared a letter with parents stating online learning starts on the 11th - so none this upcoming week. I stupidly assumed that we would be given this week to prepare resources however I’ve just spoken to the deputy head and he said we are having 4 days of extra INSET and Friday is to redo all displays in school and classrooms.

As a follow up I mentioned INSET on teams or within departments and he said no just the hall as usual. Our hall is tiny and we can’t be more than 1m away from each other.

Does this sound ridiculous to anyone else or just me? Surely as a result of Christmas mixing there’s a chance someone could have it, spending 4 full days crammed in a room together all day seems risky? They didn’t mention KW/vulnerables.

What are your schools doing?

We've not had an in person full staff meeting since March! Year team meetings are face to face - up to 9 people in a room together. But everything else is via Teams.

We have briefing 3 times a week still for 15 minutes crammed in the hall! Even when 4 members of slt tested positive we carried on as we were!

Can I ask your schools plan for next week please?

God, all our meeting were on Teams too. Next week - years 11 and 13 in, all other years wfh.

Loads of people meeting in a hall is ridiculous. Are you all set up for Teams / Zoom etc?
