Letter of resignation

I'm currently on maternity leave and need to let my school know that I won't be returning once it's over. What should I include in my letter of resignation? Can I just email the head or do I have to print and post a formal letter?

Yes you can email but be prepared that they may ask you to repay some of your mat leave back.

Does your maternity end before Easter? If so then you might find yourself back at work as normal resignation dates apply.

You would resign as you would any other post by stating your last day of employment, not your last day in school.
