Teaching with ADHD

I would love to go into secondary school teaching although I have adhd. Will this disadvantage me? Do you know any successful teachers who have adhd. I have always wanted to be a teacher but put off as I haven’t seen many with my condition. If you know any teachers who have ADHD , what things make them good teachers? Are there any traits from their adhd which make them better than others?

I have (undiagnosed) ADHD and have kept it to myself.
I have areas that I have to work harder at (organisation) but it’s never stood in my way and I’m a successful teacher.
(Albeit a slightly ‘spontaneous’ one!)

I know of a few highly successful teachers with ADHD. I think I have a lot of the traits (which explains a lots about my life choices) - it all made sense after I did a course.
I'm now a primary teacher (was secondary in a creative subject). Organisation will never be my strong point but I have a lot of passion for my job and think outside the box. I love to see the children active, challenged and engaged I also think it helps me understand children who don't quite fit the norm. I think my classroom can be rather more exciting than some I've seen but I struggle to focus on the boring mundane things that are a big part of the job - pointless paperwork mainly. I'm a first class procrastinator. My mind runs at 100 miles an hour and there's just so much I want the children to learn.

I work with 2 teachers with ADHD, one art one PE. They are both very good, super energetic and the kids love them.

I work with a (primary) teacher with ADHD. He is super messy but a brilliant teacher. The kids love him and learn well.
