Going back after maternity

Hello,

I have told my school this month that I want to go back in March which is a year after going on maternity. Their response was 'Oh your organised!' and it didn't sound like I was going to get days/contract hours confirmed any time soon. I was on a 0.5 contract previously and have requested to go 0.4.I need to know so I can sort childcare and I did say this. Can schools confirm whenever they want or is there some kind of deadline for them? Thanks

Sorry excuse the typo typing whilst holding a 7 month old 😂

You'd have to apply for change of hours at my place and wait for that to be authorised. They don't have to agree to 0.4.

I don't know of any deadlines but employment people might know more. Worth checking on the employment board.

Thank you. I have since been sent a helpful email from the school business manager so am a bit clearer now

That's good news. It's a nightmare for childcare teaching! Hope you get what you want.
