Ideas for free resources

Hi teachers 👋🏻

I'm not a teacher. I'm currently a SAHM and used to be a graphic designer/illustrator. I have two DC who are not yet of school age. I'm looking to get myself back into the mindset of working and achieving something.

My DM is a teacher, so I'm aware of how limited and frankly rubbish some free resources can be, and how expensive the 'good' ones are - the ones that the school is meant to buy, but they end up coming out of a teacher's pocket because they feel it would benefit the pupils.

Anyway... I'm looking to draw some pictures and create some resources for the classroom. One idea that I had with DM was to draw a picture of a scene with a lot going on, for children to look at and pick out bits to create a story. So for example, a spooky looking house with cobwebs, a cat, and various other items all over the picture that each child can choose from to write a scary story, so the stories written by the class would be more varied. Another idea was to draw a page with themed items for younger or perhaps SEN children to name and colour in.

Does anybody want to put in their two pence about what they'd like to see? Once I've done the resources I will come back here with a link for people to download them.

We’re not allowed to use Twinkle for displays at school so some really nice headings for generic displays would be lovely. Reading Corner/Word of the week/Star reader etc
Thank you. Very thoughtful.
