Hi. My children have to isolate (again) second time in last three weeks so I need to stay off to look after them as my partner has no holidays left due to having a week with them before half term.
School said only two days can be paid.
How do I stand do I set cover .do I do remote lessons as normal for isolating students? Reluctant to do so if they're not paying me. Angry

No pay no work I would have thought surely?

thebookeatinggirl · 07/11/2020 09:24

Absolutely not. On the days they are not paying you, you shouldn't work at all.

Hercwasonaroll · 07/11/2020 16:12

No, nothing if they aren't paying.

That's what I thought.

I worl in a secondary school as a subject leader. There is another member within the department on the same level as me, we both reported into the faculty leader. The faculty leader left at half term and has not been replaced. There's a strong possibility they won't be replaced this year.

However, without a faculty leader there are many jobs that have not been assigned, We've been told the responsibilities will be shared between us, in addition to our current role. Can we ask for additional money to carry out these additional responsibilities? They're not generous with their TLRs so we're probably underpaid even without the additional responsibilies!

We have a meeting with the head on Monday to discuss everything. I'm all for asking for more money but the other member of staff appears relcuctant, possibly because they wants the job long term and don't want to cause a fuss now. Any advice would be great - thanks.

If you're doing the work a TLR holder.would do.surely you should be paid accordingly even if temporary
