You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Why are the briefings never on time? What way is that to run a country?

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 31/10/2020 17:12

@RigaBalsam

Austria are switching secondaries and unis to distancing learning.
Maybe BoJo will do that for us. So primaries still open

@Appuskidu - yep they are watching the Rugby - typical blokes

I think he is too scared to.

Still people thinking it doesn't spread in schools.

Appuskidu · 31/10/2020 17:18

I think he is too scared to.

Still people thinking it doesn't spread in schools.

And still some people thinking teachers should lose pay if schools close!

Those people are stupid - the sort of people who stick their heads in the sand when a disaster is about to strike. They are clutching onto pseudo science cherry picking the bits that suit them ....

Those people in real life should fess up who they are. Nasty types

They don’t bother to hide who they are on my local FB group. Not being anonymous doesn’t curb their dickishness one bit.
ThrawnCow · 31/10/2020 17:24

He probably, quite rightly, thinks people would rather watch the rugby. He'd better be done by Strictly o'clock.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 31/10/2020 17:28

Bet that what the BBC are worried about.

I want my glass of wine with Strictly !

Augustbreeze · 31/10/2020 17:28

💃 oh my goodness if Bojo cancels tonight's Strictly, there will be riots!!!

Hercwasonaroll · 31/10/2020 17:30

Wine is open. Sod Boris.

monkeytennis97 · 31/10/2020 17:30

Thank you @motherrunner Thanks

Piggywaspushed · 31/10/2020 17:31

I am not interested in wine or gin. Just waiting until we crack open Maoam and Refreshers.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/10/2020 17:41

How fucking rude is it to be an hour and a half late? As if we needed more evidence of the contempt they hold us all in.

eitak22 · 31/10/2020 17:44

Congratulations Marple Flowers like others have said here, make sure you look after yourself.

On a slightly selfish note, I bloody hope the dentist doesn't shut down during this lockdown - just got the courage to get over my anxiety about it and need to have a tooth removed on the 19th (half of it broke!).

Appuskidu · 31/10/2020 17:50

What’s the betting his speech raises more questions than it answers. He’ll mutter something about ‘Some’ places still being allowed to remain open, ‘some’ financial help for small businesses and something about shielding, but we’ll have to wait two weeks for any actual guidance.

Augustbreeze · 31/10/2020 17:51

Kevin Courtney of NEU interviewed on Beeb (who are having to wheel out any Tom, Dick or Harry they can find on a street corner while they await No 10).

He was good, clear, sensible and kept referring to data.

borntobequiet · 31/10/2020 17:52

I bet they’re still arguing. Some Tories don’t believe in locking down.

Loshad · 31/10/2020 17:55

Congratulations @marplemead
Enjoy your takeaway

ThrawnCow · 31/10/2020 17:56

I'm not going to watch now. Will catch up later.

NeurotrashWarrior · 31/10/2020 17:57

Aw congratulations @marplemead! What lovely news! 💐

monkeytennis97 · 31/10/2020 17:58

Do.... you.... think... Bojo might.... resign?

namechangedyetagain · 31/10/2020 17:59

Have I missed anything? Ventured into the kitchen to get some gin and to start cooking nibbly bits for strictly Glitterball

DreamingofBrie · 31/10/2020 17:59

Baddiel is being very funny on Twitter. my youngest dc has become hooked on his books over lockdown.
