Whats the difference?

Can anyone explain the difference between a 32 hour HLTA contract and a 37 hour one?

Is 32 hours considered full time?

I'm only contracted to 32 hours a week but I'm often in school 8am until 4.30/5pm each day. If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to plan/mark and assess the 22 lessons I teach a week.

Hi, 36 hours is considered full time

You will be paid as to what was advertised on the advert. Sometimes some adverts are for 32 and others for 37 hours but the job spec. Would show if there are any extra responsibilities and this will be reflected in the pay

Hi thanks for your reply.

So even though I teach a full time table, attend staff meetings etc. I'm not considered full time?

If you plan, mark, assess and teach a full timetable then why don’t you just do your teacher training and then you will be paid adequately?
