Interviewing at a school where I already work...

So I already work at a school (part time, non classroom role) and have an interview coming up for another role (I would continue with my current role and do this one on alternate days). I think I am the only internal candidate, but there are external candidates interviewing also so it's by no means a "done deal." Any tips on preparation?

I've worked there for almost a year, so they know me pretty well by now, and I obviously know the school and staff etc. First part of interview will be task based, but I'm curious as to the interview questions, will they likely be the same for me as the others (school ethos, safeguarding, relevant experience etc) or will mine be slightly different?

Any tips grealy appreciated!!

I think I'm more nervous for this than I was for my original interview. If I don't get it I've got to work alongside the person who did, as well as those that didn't hire me 😂 awks much??!

Treat it like you're an external candidate. They have to ask you the same questions so don't assume "they know that so I won't mention it"
Don't do what the person who didn't get my job did... she was matey matey with the students and the staff and it didn't come across well.
Sell yourself just like you would elsewhere.
Good luck :)

I had a similar experience - it is a bit weird!. Sell yourself as you would to a new school, but give plenty of examples from your work there to back you up. Be professional not pally.

Good luck

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I'll treat it like any other interview 👍
