When should I hear about school job?

Hi! Sorry to intrude on the staff room as I don’t actually work in a school but hoping some of you knowledgable people could help me out.

Applied for a job as non teaching staff in a school, I sent my application in on the last day of term which was the day before applications closed. Just wondered if anyone knew when I should expect to hear if I’ve been offered an interview? Just curious as schools off for the summer, if the people behind the applications will still be looking over and getting interviews in before September?

It depends on the school. Some schools I heard back from the day after applications closed, some a couple weeks later, some never. One notable outlier sent a thanks but no thanks letter to me in the post two months after the job advert had closed--that was a surprise!
